For Publishers

Proven. Enduring. Quietly Disruptive.

The Textbook Media model was invented by the publishers at Freeload Press (now called Textbook Media Press) in the fall of 2004.

We wanted to provide students with price/media options that increased their buy-in and use of textbooks. The TM model was centered on providing a  free or low cost, ad-based digital version as the base-case product.  As there was no distributor who offered such a service, the Freeloaders developed their own distribution process and called it Textbook Media.

Over 35 textbooks are available in our model. Our books are used on over 400 college campuses and we've provided over 100,000 college students with a free or low cost version of our work. In addition to Textbook Media Press titles, we distribute textbooks for other small, independent publishers, including math titles from Bernard J. Klein Publishing.

Other publishers have since introduced similar digital models with student options. But none use advertising to drive down the price of the base-case product.  Proven. Enduring. Quietly Disruptive.  That'sTextbook Media.
